I'm two days into Reika building my defensive line
There's this guy, let's call him Robin, says move back east of the Khozime.
But it doesn't really sit with me quite right
Backwater Savages can't match Felderian Might
So I just keep thoughtlessly throwing soldiers into the front lines in the middle of the night.
I wake up under fire and I wake up fully drenched
And I wake just in time to see a Dragoon in my trench
See I don't like fighting them, but must obey or raise their ire, so I just send my men over the wire fed into machine gun fire.
If our King could see that we are living in a hell, he’d probably make things worse because we’re living way too well.
If we need ammo, or we need food, we just get told we must make good. I tell myself, I say the thing, “We fight this war, it’s for our King”
We tend to forget… our empire is quite old…
Maybe those Backwater Savages are better than we’re told…
I'm two days into Reika and I know I've crossed the line
Because this Drow that we call Masdrin will be in Gatham in no time
Our soldiers think we’re crazy, our men still lay right where they fell
Cuz when the slave waves got wiped out they sent the troops to die as well
I’m just two days into Reika and our front lines are destroyed
The Backwater Savages from Emberstone are hell once they’re deployed.
There’s so much land we need to take, but they won’t budge a step
Mistwood is so far away it’s easy to forget
That we were helping allies and they ended their war
We could have ended ours as well but King Brynn wanted more
I try to lead them honestly, this nation puts us through hell.
If I’ve done wrong, or I’ve done right, we’re going over the damned wire tonight.
They said “Give up,” I said “Okay,” I think we might yet live today
To survive this war, we’ll go their way.
And the one thing… that’s important.. Above everything else
Is to learn not to laugh when Emberstone comes to call
I try, believe me when I say
If we cross to them we may live another day
We’ll be fine, we’ll get time, we’ll get time
Just two days, two days, into Reika
