Dréoliatreksadurdrin
Dréoliatreksadurdrin—known to most as Durdrin—is the enigmatic founder of the *Barra D’aron*, the absolute authority in Felynafay, and the silent Guardian of the Deep. Though he walks the Underdark as a Drow, he is not one. He is a Guardian Dragon, shaped by the goddess Aestrid and raised by the Arch-Druid Styrr to protect the world from within its darkest corners.
He took on Drow form to infiltrate and contain the chaos of Felynafay—*not as an outsider*, but as one who lived, fought, and ruled from within.
Overview
Durdrin does not seek war. He seeks control—not through fear, but through discipline, choice, and earned loyalty. In a land where betrayal is tradition and cruelty is governance, he built something different: a brotherhood, where respect is forged in trial and loyalty is freely given.
The Barra D’aron does not answer to the Matrons. It answers to Durdrin, and by extension, to his vision of stability in a place designed to collapse in on itself.
Origin and Divine Mission
Durdrin was created by Aestrid herself, not born, and shaped to walk among mortals without revealing his nature. His form is fluid, his name mutable. As Dré Zaurahel, he walked among Drow. As Durdrin, he carved his name into history. His mission has always been the same: to shield the world from the dark, by becoming its master.
What he does not yet realize is that his legacy will outlive him—not just in name, but in blood. The line he began is immortal, even if he does not yet understand why.
Fatherhood and the Only Heir
Durdrin was granted one child by the gods: Masdrin De’Endar. This child, born of his union with Matron Larynda, is the only known heir of a Guardian Dragon.
Masdrin did not inherit his father’s divine nature—but he inherited something more important: his vision. While Durdrin governs from the shadows, Masdrin rules in the open. One shapes the deep. The other shapes the world above. Neither could exist without the other.
Durdrin trained Masdrin harder than any recruit, pushing him beyond all limits. And in doing so, he forged a king—not a puppet, not a servant, but a sovereign worthy of standing in the light.
The Barra D’aron
The Barra D’aron is Durdrin’s legacy to Felynafay and the world beyond. Built on the principle of *earned loyalty*, it stands apart from the houses and cults that dominate Underdark politics. Its members are not born to power—they survive to earn it.
Durdrin’s compound is neutral ground, respected even by Matrons who fear nothing. Those who break its rules do not get a second chance. Discipline is absolute, but honor is sacred.
Though many believe the company to be rooted only in violence, it is in truth a system of restraint, precision, and balance, guided by a master who knows the cost of chaos.
Legacy
Durdrin is more than a commander. He is a sentinel—*the line that holds when all else breaks*. His face may change. His name may fade from surface histories. But his work is eternal.
The houses of Felynafay fear him not because of what he might do, but because he already has control—and he never raised his voice to take it.
And while his story may seem rooted in darkness, his true legacy walks in sunlight: Masdrin, Zeerdrin, and the world they are building.
Durdrin will never claim a throne. He does not need to. He built the king who will never forget who taught him to rule.
